19144773_thbMost people think of domestic violence as…domestic and workplace violence as…workplace.  

But with more homicides happening in the workplace than ever before, what we know is some of these are domestic problems brought into work. Battered women and men are harassed, stalked, and intimidated while at work. The question is, what will and can employers do to help.

Here’s a thoughtful and accurate piece on this problem and one solution: “The first step is to make all employees aware that there is support for the victim of assault, even when the assault occurs at home, at your business, that there will be trained staff that know what to look for in situations that include domestic assault. A well thought out, well announced safety plan, is put in place by co-workers for the office place and in support of the victim of domestic assault.”   Read more here.
