She is the founding President of the Southern California Chapter of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FWE). FWE is the leading organization for female entrepreneurs in high growth technology and life science companies. During her term as President (1999 – 2001), FWE:
• Led and inspired FWE entrepreneurs to raise over $600,000,000 (yes, 600 million dollars!) in venture capital.
• Formed three separate organizations in Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego County.

Kathleen Schulweis was also the founding Director of the California Institute of Technology, Caltech Women’s Center. For seven years, she worked to protect and advance the rights of female scientists at this prestigious institution, where she instituted:
The Program for Women Entrepreneurs, a program that facilitated technology transfer for women scientists and provides support and encouragement in choosing entrepreneurship as a career.
Previous to her work at Caltech, Kathleen pioneered special programs, services, and policy development designed to encourage the empowerment of women at the University of Southern California and at the University of California, Los Angeles.
